Each new hexagon connects to the ones around it, and the structure becomes more rigid as it grows.

The PDF starts with your build and parts summary, followed by the design in metric and imperial units. The ZIP contains the matching connector STLs, plus a marking jig when fasteners are used.

Fit

Test one connector first.

The standard 0.1 mm clearance is between the measured board thickness and the inside of the connector arms. Adjust it only if needed for printer tolerance or board variation.

Use settings that ensure a strong part. Small differences in board size, thickness, warp or printer calibration can add up across a large build.

Optional fasteners

Useful for open shapes and wall mounts.

Complete hexagons support one another. Open shapes, unusual geometry and wall-mounted builds may benefit from fasteners.

Choose where they go

Turn Fasteners on, then choose Perimeter or All compatible. Perimeter adds them only to exposed joints.

M4 barrel screws are recommended. They are easy to use, look clean and clamp the connector around the board. Avoid countersunk screws; their shape can push printed layers apart.

Use the jig for marking.

Place the jig, mark the hole, remove the jig, then drill. The fastener holds the joint by clamping the connectors together.

Wall mounts

Keep wall-mounted builds lighter.

Fasteners are recommended to make the board-to-connector joints stronger. Use suitable wall anchors, and keep the load lower than you would on a comparable floor-standing shelf.

A short safety note

There is no universal load rating. Strength depends on the design, board, printed parts, fit and anchoring. Inspect the parts, secure tall furniture and avoid climbing, overhead or other safety-critical uses.
